SEVEN (7) STEPS TO REVIVAL

July 23, 2018 0

(Psalm 85)
In verse 6 of this wonderful psalm, the psalmist prays for revival. Multitudes today are praying a similar prayer, and in this study we shall discover some of the things that God says about revival. Some of us have seen revivals on a very small scale, where in crowded meetings many souls have been saved, lives have been transformed and there has been a deep spirit of prayer resting upon the people of God; but few of us have seen any large-scale revivals. We have read sufficient about such mighty movements of the Spirit of God to make us long for the Lord to do it again! But – what is revival? Revival is renewal, restoration –- a fresh inflow of the life, love and power of God. People faint and then, when help is brought, they revive. Flowers droop, and when placed in fresh water they revive. Christians and churches also droop, faint and need reviving. There are degrees of revival. A sick person may revive and get a little better, and then later be restored to full health and strength. The same is true with Christians and churches.
As we study this psalm let us pray that we may become deeply burdened for God to send a full-scale Holy Ghost revival in our land, and indeed throughout the world. What are the steps that lead to such a revival?
1 . We must confess our NEED of Revival
The psalmist’s prayer was a confession of need; it was only when he felt the need that he prayed – verse 6. Think of the need for revival:
1. In the outside world. Multitudes are without God and without hope in the world (Ephesians 2:12); most of them are outside the churches, and revival is the only key to this tragic situation.
2. In the Church. Many churches are worldly, formal and lacking in spiritual power and vitality. Only revival can alter this state of affairs.
3. In our own lives. How powerless we are! How frequently we fail, our testimony seems ineffective, and how little we pray! Revival is our personal need.
There will never be any revival until we are willing to admit our desperate need for it.
2 . We must admit the POSSIBILITY of Revival .
Are we convinced that revival is possible? The psalmist was! Six times in verses 1-3 he reminded God of what He had done –- “You showed… You restored“. And the fact that God has sent revival in the past demonstrates the possibility of revival coming again. Some people will not admit the possibility of revival coming in our day; for example, the ultra-dispensationalists, and all pessimistic, unbelieving, self-satisfied, worldly Christians will be slow to admit the possibility. But history, plus the promises of God, prove the possibility of revival. Look up 2 Chronicles 7:14; Jeremiah 33:3; Malachi 3:10
3 . We must recognise the SOURCE of Revival
Where does revival come from? Verse 6 tells us. “You……” –- look up Psalm 62:11. It comes from God; it is not worked up but sent down, and therefore our eyes must not be upon men, methods, churches or denominations –- but upon Him.
“When we look to man, we get what man can do; when we look to money, we get what money can do; when we look to organisation, we get what organisation can do; when we look to denominations, we get what denominations can do; but when we look to God, we get what God can do.”
Look up Psalm 62:5.
4 . We must employ the MEANS for securing Revival .
What is the secret of revival? It is prayer – “Will you not……?” (verse 6) – – passionate, believing, urgent prayer. Has there ever been a revival that was not preceded by prayer? – Pentecost, the Moravian Revival, the 1859 Revival, the Welsh Revival, movements of the Spirit that are taking place in different parts of the world today……Look up 2 Chronicles 7:14 again.
5 . We must provide the CHANNELS for Revival .
God is wanting to send revival, but He needs channels –- “us” (verse 6) –- believers, Christians; for –-
“Revival is the outflow of the Spirit of God through the regenerated spirit of man” (John 7:38-39). Thus, if revival is to come, you and I are to be ready to receive the full blessing of God and to be channels through whom that blessing can flow.
6 . We must remove the OBSTACLES to Revival .
In verse 6 the psalmist prays for revival –- “that your people may rejoice in you.” This indicates fellowship, walking with God, agreement with God (Amos 3:3) –-
being right with God. The greatest barrier to revival is sin. Are you right with God? Is there sin in your life? Are you living in disobedience to the Lord? Face up to this!
Many years ago D. L. Moody heard Henry Varley say, “The world has yet to see what God will do with one man who is fully surrendered to Him.” Moody said, “By God’s grace, I’ll be that man!” Will you be another? Will you begin now to pray the same prayer for your church, that the world may see what God can do?
7 . We shall enjoy the RESULTS of Revival .
Read the rest of the psalm, and notice several results which are mentioned: salvation (7); peace (8); glory (9); harmony (10); increase (11); provision (12); Psalm 37:23! (13).

COVENANT OF HEALING AND HEALTH

July 21, 2018 0

He sent HIS WORD and HEALED them, and delivered them from their destructions – Psalm 107:20
God has a COVENANT of HEALING and HEALTH with His children. He puts this Covenant into operation by sending His COVENANT WORD: “He sent His Word, and healed them…” (Ps.107:20). In the Old Testament, Jehovah-Rapha declared as follows: “…If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I brought on the
Egyptians: for I am the LORD who heals you” (Ex.15:26). Again, He assured His people: “ So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfil the number of your days” (Ex.23:25-26).
Healing and health are God’s Will for humanity. Indeed, they are part of the Redemption package that our LORD Jesus Christ obtained for us on the Cross. Christ died not only to save us from sin, but also to deliver us from sicknesses: “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes WE ARE HEALED” (Is.53:4-5). 1 Peter 2:24 echoes the same truth: “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes YOU WERE HEALED.” Christ has TAKEN AWAY sicknesses and REMOVED diseases from our domains (Mt.8:17). Alleluia!
Psalm 91:10 assures: “No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.” The Covenant Word is our covering against every evil; our protection from all plagues. Malachi 4:2 affirms: “But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with HEALING in His wings….” Where sickness has infiltrated, the Covenant Word provides for restoration: “For I will RESTORE HEALTH to you and HEAL you of your wounds,’ says the LORD, ‘Because they called you an outcast saying: “this is Zion; no one seeks her”’ (Jer.30:17).
Indeed, God’s perfect plan is not for us to be continually in need of healings, but to live in DIVINE HEALTH and Wellbeing (3Jh.2). Ultimately, our healing and health reside in the WORD: “My son, give attention to my WORDS; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and HEALTH to all their flesh” (Pro.4:20-22). The Word is effectual medicine for ALL of our flesh and against ALL diseases!

Five (5) Kinds of Revival The Church Need

July 19, 2018 0
What a company we have here tonight! It fills my heart with gladness and my eyes with tears of joy to see so many hundreds of persons gathered together at what is sometimes wickedly described as “only a prayer meeting.” It is good for us to draw nigh unto God in prayer, and specially good to make up a great congregation for such a purpose. We have attended little prayer meetings of four or five, and we have been glad to be there, for we had the promise of our Lord’s presence; but our minds are grieved to see so little attention given to united prayer by many of our churches. We have longed to see great numbers of God’s people coming up to pray, and we now enjoy this sight. Let us praise God that it is so. How could we expect a blessing if we were too idle to ask for it? How could we look for a Pentecost if we never met with one accord, in one place, to wait upon the Lord? Brethren, we shall never see much change for the better in our churches in general till the prayer meeting occupies a higher place in the esteem of Christians. To mix it up with the week-night lecture, and really make an end of it, is a sad sign of declension. I wonder some two or three earnest souls in such churches do not band themselves together to restore the meeting for prayer, and bind themselves with a pledge to keep it up, whether the minister will come to it or not.
But now that we have come together, how shall we pray? Let us not degenerate into formality, or we shall be dead while we think we live. Let us not waver through unbelief, or we shall pray in vain. The Lord says to his church tonight, “Open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.” Oh, for great faith with which to offer great prayers tonight! We have been mingling praise and prayer together as a delicious compound of spices, fit to be presented upon the altar of incense through Christ our Lord; may we not at this time offer some special far-reaching petition? It is suggested to me that we pray for a true and genuine revival of religion throughout the world.
I am glad of any signs of life, even if they should be feverish and transient, and I am slow to judge any well-intended movement, but I am very fearful that many so-called “revivals” have in the long run wrought more harm than good. Places which have had the most of religious excitement are frequently the most hard to reach. Men’s minds have been baked hard in the oven of fanaticism. A species of religious gambling has fascinated many men, and given them a distaste for the sober business of true godliness. But if I would nail down counterfeits upon the counter, I do not therefore undervalue true gold. Far from it. It is to be desired beyond measure that the Lord would send a real and lasting revival of spiritual life.
1) We need a work of the Holy Ghost of a supernatural kind, putting power into the preaching of the Word, inspiring all believers with heavenly energy, and solemnly affecting the hearts of the careless, so that they turn to God and live. We would not be drunk with the wine of carnal excitement, but we would be filled with the Spirit; we would not leap upon the altar, and shout and cry, “O Baal, hear us,” but we would behold the fire descending from heaven in answer to the effectual fervent prayers of righteous men. Can we not entreat the Lord our God to make bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the people in this day of declension and vanity?
2) We want a revival of old-fashioned doctrine. Our fear is that, if modern thought proceeds much further, the fashion of our religion will be as much Mohammedan as Christian; in fact, it will be more like infidelity than either. A converted Jew, staying in London, went into a dissenting chapel which I could mention, and when he reached the friend with whom he was staying, he inquired what the religion of the place could be, for he had heard nothing of what he had received as the Christian faith. The doctrines which are distinctive of the New Testament may not be actually denied in set terms, but they are spirited away: the phrases are used, but a new sense is attached to them. Certain moderns talk much of Christ, and yet reject Christianity. Under cover of extolling the Teacher, they reject his teaching for theories more in accord with the spirit of the age. At first, Calvinism was too harsh, then evangelical doctrines became too antiquated, and now the Scriptures themselves must bow to man’s alteration and improvement. There is plenty of preaching in the present day in which no mention is made of the depravity of human nature, the work of the Holy Ghost, the blood of atonement, or the punishment of sin. The Deity of Christ is not so often assailed, but the gospel which he gave us through his own teaching and that of the apostles is questioned, criticized, and set aside. One of the great missionary societies actually informs us, by one of its writers, that it does not send out missionaries to save the heathen from the wrath to come, but to prepare them “for the higher realm which awaits them beyond the river of death.” I confess I have better hopes for the future of the heathen than for the state of those who thus write concerning them. The heathen will derive but small advantage from the gospel which such triflers with the Scriptures are likely to carry them. I know not a single doctrine which is not at this hour studiously undermined by those who ought to be its defenders; there is not a truth that is precious to the soul which is not now denied by those whose profession it is to proclaim it. The times are out of joint, and many are hoping to make them more and more so. To me it is clear that we need a revival of old fashioned gospel-preaching like that of Whitefield and Wesley; to me, preferably that of Whitefield. We need to believe: the Scriptures must be made the infallible foundation of all teaching; the ruin, redemption, and regeneration of mankind must be set forth in unmistakable terms, and that right speedily, or faith will be more rare than gold of Ophir. We must demand from our teachers that they give us a “Thus saith the Lord”; for at this time they give us their own imaginations. Today the Word of the Lord in the book of Jeremiah is true: “Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord. They say still unto them that despise me, The Lord hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you” [Jer. 23:16, 17]. Beware of those who say that there is no hell, and who declare new ways to heaven. May the Lord have mercy upon them!
3) Urgently do we need a revival of personal godliness . This is, indeed, the secret of church prosperity. When individuals fall from their steadfastness, the church is tossed to and fro; when personal faith is steadfast, the church abides true to her Lord. We have in and around our own denomination many true-hearted servants of Christ, who are hardly put to it to know what to do. Their loyalty to their Lord and to his truth is greater than their love to sect or party, and they know not whether to abide in their present position, and fight out the great question, or to lift the old banner, and quit their apostatizing associates. Do whichever they may, it is upon the truly godly and spiritual that the future of religion depends in the hand of God. Oh, for more truly holy men, quickened and filled with the Holy Spirit, consecrated to the Lord, and sanctified by his truth! What can be accomplished by worldly professors, theater-going church members, semi-infidel teachers, and philosophical preachers? Nothing but ruin can follow from a preponderance of these. Their presence is grievous to God, and disastrous to his people. Brethren, we must each one live if the church is to be alive; we must live unto God if we expect to see the pleasure of the Lord prospering in our hands. Sanctified men are the necessity of every age, for they are the salt of society, and the saviors of the race. The Lord has made a man more precious than a wedge of gold—I mean a decided, instructed, bold, unswerving man of God.
4) We deeply want a revival of domestic religion. We have been saddened at the terrible accounts of the impurity of this city; but, doubtless, one cause of this state of things is the neglect of household religion among Christians, and the entire absence of common decency in many of the lodgings of the poor. The Christian family was the bulwark of godliness in the days of the Puritans; but in these evil times hundreds of families of so-called Christians have no family worship, no restraint upon growing sons, and no wholesome instruction or discipline. See how the families of many professors are as dressy, as gay, as godless as the children of the non-religious! How can we hope to see the kingdom of our Lord advance when his own disciples do not teach his gospel to their own sons and daughters? Have we not need to repeat the lament of Jeremiah? “Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.” How different this from the father of the faithful, of whom the Lord said, “I know Abraham, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord”! The surest way to promote godliness abroad is to labor for it at home. The shortest method for the overthrow of priestcraft is for every man to be the priest in his own house, and to warn his sons against deceitful men. May our dear children be so well taught from infancy that they may not only escape the common vices of the age, but grow up to become patterns of holiness! This is a great difficulty to our poorer friends in this loathsome city, which is becoming as polluted as heathendom. A good sister, who lives close to this house of prayer, came up from a country town with her little boy, and she was horrified before long to hear him use profane language, being evidently unaware of its meaning. He had picked it up in the street close to his mother’s door. Where are the children of working-folks to run if they are not able to walk the streets? All around us vice has become so daring that a blind man may almost be envied; but even he has ears, and will, therefore, be vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked. Good people say to me, “What are we to do?” I wish those who live in the breezy country village would stop there, and not come into our close streets, and lanes, and courts, which reek with blasphemy and dirty talk. Why do working-men so often think it necessary, in their ordinary conversation, to use such abominable expressions, which have no useful meaning, and are simply disgusting? If ever Christian people should be pure, and should watch over their children with a holy jealousy, now is the time, and this is a worthy subject for daily prayer.
I would sooner have the doctrines of grace revived, individual piety deepened, and family religion increased, than I would watch a frantic crowd parading the street with noisy music, and harsh clamor. I see no special virtue in drums and tambourines. Make what noise you will to attract the careless if you afterwards give them sound instruction in the truth, and make them to know the meaning of the Word of the Lord; but if it be mere stir, and song, and swagger, what is the good of it? If gospel truth is not taught, your work will be a building of wood, hay, and stubble, soon to be consumed. Quick building is seldom permanent. Gold, silver, and precious stones are scarce material, not easily found; but then they endure the fire. What is the use of a religion which comes up in a night, and perishes as soon? Ah me, what empty bragging we have heard! The thing was done, but then it was never worth doing; soon things were as if it never had been done; and, moreover, this sham way of doing it made it all the harder toil for the real worker.
Oh, Christian men and women, be thorough in what you do, and know, and teach! Hold truth as with an iron grip; let your families be trained in the fear of God, and be yourselves “holiness unto the Lord”; so shall you stand like rocks amid the surging waves of error and ungodliness which rage around you.
We want, also, more and more, a revival of vigorous, consecrated strength. I have pleaded for true piety; I now beg for one of the highest results of it.
5) We need saints. It may be that all cannot attain unto “the first three”; but we cannot do without champions. We need gracious minds trained to a high form of spiritual life by much converse with God in solitude. These are the standard-bearers of the army; each one is as a king’s son. There is an air about them, humble as they are, as of men who breathe a purer atmosphere. Such was Abraham, who, by his communion with God, acquired a more than royal bearing. The king of Sodom shrinks into insignificance in the presence of the high-minded sheik who will not take of his lawful spoils from a thread to a shoe-latchet, lest the heathen king should say, “I have made Abraham rich.” Saints acquire nobility from their constant resort to the place where the Lord meets with them. There, also, they acquire that power in prayer which we so greatly need. Oh, that we had more men like John Knox, whose prayers were more terrible to Queen Mary than ten thousand men! Oh, that we had more Elijahs, by whose faith the windows of heaven should be shut or opened! This power comes not by a sudden effort; it is the outcome of a life devoted to the God of Israel. If our life is all in public, it will be a frothy, vapory, ineffectual existence; but if we hold high converse with God in secret, we shall be mighty for good. The Puritans were abundant in meditation and prayer; and there were giants in the earth in those days. He that is a prince with God will take high rank with men, after the true measure of nobility.
May the Lord send us many self-contained Christians, whose godliness leans on God for itself, and is not a second-hand affair! We see too many Christian people depending upon one another, like houses “run up” by “jerrybuilders,” which are so slenderly built that, if you were to pull down the last one in the row, they would all follow. Beware of being a lean-to; endeavor to rest on your own walls of real faith in the Lord Jesus. I tremble for a church whose continuance depends upon the talent and cleverness of one man. If he is removed, the whole thing will collapse: this is a wretched business. May none of us fall into a mean, poverty-stricken dependence on man! We want among us believers like those solid, substantial family mansions which stand from generation to generation as landmarks of the country; no lath-and- plaster fabrics, but edifices solidly constructed to bear all weathers, and defy time itself. Given a host of men who are steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, and then the glory of God’s grace will be clearly manifested, not only in them, but in those round about them. The Lord send us a revival of consecrated strength, and heavenly energy! May the weakest among us be as David, and David as the angel of the Lord!
As for you who are not converted to God, many of you will be caught in the great wave of blessing, if God shall cause it to break over us. When saints live unto God, sinners are converted to God. “I was converted,” said one, “not by hearing a sermon, but by seeing one.” “How was that?” he was asked. “My next door neighbor was the only man in the street who went to a place of worship; and, as I saw him go out as regularly as clockwork, I said to myself, ‘That man regards the Sabbath, and the God of the Sabbath, and I do not’. By-and-by I went into his house, and I saw that comfort and order reigned in it, while my room was wretched. I saw how his wife and children dwelt in love, and I said to myself, ‘This home is happy because the father fears God.’ I saw my neighbor calm in trouble, and patient under persecution. I knew him to be upright, true, and kind, and I said to myself, ‘I will find out this man’s secret,’ and thus I was converted.” Preach by your hands if you cannot preach by your tongues. When our church members show the fruits of true godliness, we shall soon have inquiries for the tree which bears such a crop.
Dear friends, at our prayer meetings of late our Lord has very graciously spoken to one and another of the unconverted among us. What a mercy that they were so far interested as to come! We have not said very much to them, but we have been praying for them, and we have talked of the joys of our holy faith, and one after another they have quietly given their hearts to God while in the prayer meeting. I feel very glad about it; it was all that we needed to make these meetings the gate of heaven. Such conversions are specially beautiful, they are so altogether of the Lord, and are so much the result of his working by the whole church that I am doubly delighted with them. Oh, that every gathering of faithful men might be a lure to attract others to Jesus! May many souls fly to him because they see others speeding in that direction! Why not? The coming together of the saints is the first part of Pentecost, and the in-gathering of sinners is the second. It began with “only a prayer meeting,” but it ended with a grand baptism of thousands of converts. Oh, that the prayers of believers may act as lodestones to sinners! There are a few among us who are not saved, and but a few. I do not believe they will long escape the saving influence which floods these assemblies. We have made a holy ring around certain of them; and they must soon yield to our importunity, for we are pleading with God as well as with them. Their wives are praying for them, their brothers and sisters are praying for them, and others are in the devout confederacy; therefore they must be brought in. Oh, that they would come at once! Why this reluctance to be blessed? Why this hesitation to be saved? Lord, we turn from these poor foolish procrastinators to thyself, and we plead for them with thine all-wise and gracious Spirit! Lord, turn them, and they shall be turned! By their conversion prove that a true revival has commenced to-night! Let it spread through all our households, and then run from church to church till the whole of Christendom shall be ablaze with the heaven-descended fire!
Let us pray.
Now we pray thee to grant us the blessing which we have already sought, and let it come upon all the churches of our beloved country. May the Lord revive true and undefiled religion here and in all the other lands where Christ is known and preached, and let the day come when heathendom shall become converted, when the crescent of Mohammed shall wane into eternal night, and when she that sitteth on the Seven Hills and exalteth heresy in the place of God shall be cast down to sink like a millstone in the flood.
Let the blessed Gospel of the eternal God prevail, let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Oh! that we may live to see that day. The Lord bless our country; have pity upon it. God bless the Sovereign with every mercy and blessing. Grant that there may be in thine infinite wisdom a change in the state of trade and commerce, that there may be less complaint and distress. Oh! let the people see thy hand, and understand why it is laid upon them, that they may turn from wrong-doing and seek righteousness and follow after peace. Then shall the blessing return. The Lord hear us as in secret we often cry to thee on behalf of this misled land. The Lord deliver it, and lift up the light of his countenance upon it yet again, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

6 Keys to Guarantee Biblical Wealth and Prosperity

July 16, 2018 0

Wealth and Prosperity- A Touchy Subject
Talking about wealth and prosperity in the church is one of those subjects that tend to get used and abused on a regular basis.
On one hand there are some who teach that if you just believe hard enough, you can have all the wealth and prosperity you could ever want. Of course, belief and faith are one part of the equation, but there’s a lot more to it than that.
On the other hand some preachers try to convince you that being wealthy, successful, and prosperous are something to be avoided- that the poorer you are, the more humble you are and the closer to God you become.
Does God Want You to Be Wealthy?
But where does the truth lie when you’re talking about prosperity and wealth in the Bible? How does it relate to your spiritual walk and your relationship with God?
Does God even want us to be wealthy and prosperous , or are we better off spiritually if we stay away from it?
As it turns out, the Bible has a lot to say about wealth and prosperity. It actually puts forth several key things you can do to achieve the righteous wealth and prosperity that God actually does want us to have.
In fact, if we follow the prescription we find in the scriptures, He has no choice but to give us a level of prosperity that fulfills our every need, plus guarantees an excess that we can use to bless others with.
The Definition of Prosperity
Before I delved into what the Bible had to say about it, the first thing I decided to do is to look up the definition of prosperity. So I looked up the Webster’s definition along with several versions found in Greek and Hebrew. Here are some of the characteristics of prosperity that I found:
Plenty
To be over and above, to abound
Advance or gain in anything good or desirable
Deliverance, salvation
Peace
More than enough
Successful progress in business or enterprise
Completeness, soundness
Good fortune
As you can see, prosperity is not all about money. Prosperity consists of so much more than that. It’s a comprehensive, all-encompassing variety of good things for your life, finances included!
6 Keys to Guarantee Biblical Wealth and Prosperity- A touchy subject for some people…
Here’s What I Found in the Bible
In my study, I found 6 key things you can do to make sure that God opens up the windows of heaven for you and
provide you with a blessed life that most people could only dream about.
Therefore, as I list each one I’ll have a few scriptures to back it up. This is a fairly long and comprehensive study on the subject, but I know you’ll appreciate the revelations you receive as you get into it!
6 Keys to Prosperity and Wealth in Every Part of Your Life
There are 6 key things I found that you can do to bring godly wealth and prosperity into your life. I’m sure there are others that I could include, but these seem to be the ones that crop up over and over in the scriptures. Here’s the list:
●Diligence
●Seek God in Everything
●Seek Righteousness
●Keep His Commandments (Walk in His Ways)
●Honor God With Your Wealth
●Develop Your Faith (Trust) in God

So let’s get started…
DILIGENCE
One of the first things I discovered that you must do to get God’s blessings upon you is to practice DILIGENCE.
Now, when the Bible refers to diligence in these scriptures, it’s referring to consistency and hard work. The definition of diligence I found on Google reads “careful and persistent effort”
DEUTERONOMY 28:1-2
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God.”
Key Phrases:
Diligently obey
Observe carefully
Overtake you
Listen to what God has to say- in His word as well as in direct communication with Him (prayer). Be diligent to
observe His commandments and He will set you above others that don’t. Do these things and His blessings will overtake you because you are diligently obedient.

PROVERBS 10:3-4
“…the LORD does not allow the righteous go hungry, But He thwarts the craving of the wicked. A slack hand causes poverty, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.”
Key Phrases:
The righteous won’t go hungry
Be diligent in pursuing God and Godly things, and He will reward you
Lack of diligence causes you to come to poverty
When you’re being diligent to pursue righteousness God will see to it that you are fed. Diligence makes one rich (prosperous in every way). However, lack of diligence will cause you to come to poverty (lack of prosperity).
PROVERBS 13:4
“The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.”
Desire without work will never allow you to have anything
Diligence makes you rich (prosperous)
Wishing will get you nowhere, but hard work and consistent effort will always benefit you and your situation. God sees your diligence and rewards you for it instead of simply granting empty wishes to someone not willing to do the work necessary.
SEEK GOD IN EVERYTHING
Seeking God in everything goes along with diligence, in that seeking God should be a constant in your life if you want God to consistently bless you and your situation.
2 CHRONICLES 31:20-21
“Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and in the commandment, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart. So he prospered.”
Key Phrases:
◆Did what was good
◆All his heart
Hezekiah sought God, did what was good, and served Him with all his heart. When you are a seeker God in every situation and you’re faithful, God will cause you to prosper in the same way.
PSALM 1:1-3
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly; nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Key Phrases:
Delight in the law of the Lord
Standing as a sinner, being scornful, and taking the advice of ungodly people are all things that keep you from accessing God’s blessings. But when you set your heart and mind on godly things you are constantly nourished, always fruitful, and whatever you do prospers because you have that Godly blessing upon you.
You will be constantly fed. You'll be fruitful in due season. You will not wither when things get tough (in a dry season). You will prosper in everything you do when you consistently seek godly things.
Does the Bible teach wealth or poverty for believers? Here's what I found…

SEEK RIGHTEOUSNESS
Righteousness simply means being in right standing with God .
PSALM 37:25-26
“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, or his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed”
Key Phrase-
not seen the righteous forsaken
Righteousness is a state of moral uprightness that can only be achieved through belief in Jesus and God’s plan of salvation. Being righteous doesn’t mean you’re perfect, but it does mean you follow God’s ways and believe in salvation. You are always seeking God’s ways and living them out in your own life.
When you practice righteousness:
God will never forsake you
You won’t be in poverty, your children won’t have to beg to meet their needs
You'll have the ability to be merciful to people
You will be lender, not a borrower
Your seed will be blessed- meaning it will multiply and flourish, meeting all your needs to the point of excess
PROVERBS 8:18-21
“Riches and honor are with me: yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment; That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.”
Key Phrase:
Durable riches and righteousness
Walking in God’s path for your life brings riches and honor. This means riches in everything, not just material wealth. He leads you into righteousness, and when you follow His lead you will have durable riches as well.
Durable Riches- Wealth that is gotten in righteous ways is lasting wealth, and will be an inheritance to your children’s children
Keep His Commandments (Walk in His Ways)
Keeping God’s commandments (walking in His ways) is a very important part of leading a good Christian life, but does it result in wealth and abundance?
PSALM 23:1
The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.
So when you allow yourself to be led by the Lord, you will never lack for anything.
1 KINGS 2:3
David’s Instructions to Solomon as He Was Dying
“And keep the charge of the LORD your God, walking in His ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, His rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn…”
Key Phrases:
Walking in His ways
Thou may prosper in all that you do
When you do Godly things and follow Godly ways you will prosper in everything and whichever way you turn. David gave these instructions to Solomon (who followed them) and ended up being known as the wisest and wealthiest man who ever lived!
PSALM 84:11-12
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly…”
Key Phrase:
sun and shield
Walking uprightly in the way of the Lord allows God to light your way (sun) and protect you (shield). It allows Him to extend you grace when you need it, and allows Him to bring ALL good things your way.
LEVITICUS 26:3-5
“If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.”
Key Phrases:
◆walk in my statutes
◆yield fruit
Walk in my statutes, keep my commandments- I’ll provide the rain that produces growth and abundance for what you have planted. You’ll have abundance from one harvest that will continue to the next harvest. You will have more than enough.
Honor God With Your Wealth
God is a Giver. We are made in God’s image, so we are made to be givers too. God knows we function at our best when we give of what we have, and he rewards us for it.
Proverbs 10:22
“The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.”
Key Phrases- Blessing of the Lord
Of course, God is a giver of blessings. How do you get the blessings of the Lord upon you? By following His ways, being diligent, seeking Him, seeking righteousness, etc., He has to bless you. He has no other choice- His blessings make you wealthy in every aspect- He gives it to you freely and joyfully without condemnation.
PROVERBS 3:9-10
“Honor thy Lord with your wealth, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”
Key Phrases: Honor the Lord
There are many ways to honor the Lord (worship, good works, upright living…) but this one specifically says to do it with your substance (your wealth). Giving the first fruits (tithe) is part of this, but also using your wealth in righteous ways (family, charity, etc.) is also included. Doing these things not only allows you to have enough, you’ll have an excess.
DEUTERONOMY 8:17-18
“then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’ And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth…”
Key Phrases:
◆My power
◆He gives you power
Remember that all wealth comes from God. He gives you the power to generate wealth, be it a little or a lot. Recognizing that wealth is gained through His power and not yours allows you to stay humble.
This recognition opens up the doors for Him to bless your hard work. Leaving God out of the equation limits the blessing you get from all your hard work. He can’t multiply it unless you believe that ultimately it all comes from Him.
PROVERBS 11:25
“Whoever brings blessing will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.”
Another form of giving is just being a blessing to others, which opens up God’s ability to see to it that you are blessed in return.
Malachi 3:10-12
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field, Says the LORD of hosts. And all nations will call you blessed For you will be a delightful land, Says the LORD of hosts.”
Key Phrases
Bring the tithe into the storehouse (Give to the church)
What Tithing Does:
opens up the windows of Heaven
Rebukes the devourer (instead of living paycheck to paycheck, you’ll have enough)
Won’t destroy what you have (fruit) or your harvest that is on the way (vine)
Others will call you blessed
2 CORINTHIANS 9:6-7
“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Key Phrases:
◆Sow
◆Reap
◆cheerful giver
Giving is like spreading seed– if you only spread a few seeds, you get only a few plants and a small harvest. Sowing very little means you reap very little (you’ll just barely get by). A sparse harvest will cause you to consume all your seed instead of putting some back for more sowing.
On the other hand, spreading more seed gets you a bigger harvest, producing an excess that allows you to sow even more, gaining an even larger harvest.
Be cheerful when you give. Negativity about giving actually cancels out your blessing. Always sow happily in anticipation of a great harvest.
Can you really guarantee biblical wealth and prosperity in your life? Yep, here's how…
Develop Your Faith (Trust) in God
Trusting God to do what His word says He will do is extremely important to gaining godly prosperity and wealth. If you can’t trust God to live up to His word, then why do you believe in the first place?
JAMES 1:5-7
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and up-braideth not: and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, not wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think he shall receive any thing of the Lord.”
Key Phrases:
◆Gives to all men liberally
◆he that wavers
Ask of Him, and He will give to you liberally. You must ask in faith and not waver. Being unsure about God’s promises will not allow you to receive His liberal gifts to you.
MATTHEW 6:31-33
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink: or, wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Key Phrases:
◆Take no thought
◆seek first
Don’t sit around worrying about food, clothing, or basic needs. Have faith, and trust that God knows what you need and that He will provide it when you seek Him first.
PSALM 37:3-5,11
“Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
Key Phrases:
◆Trust in the Lord
◆Delight in the Lord
◆commit
Trust means you should have faith that He is on your side and will work on your behalf. Complete trust in God is a very difficult thing to do, but when you give it all over to Him, that’s when He can do His best work for you.
Delight in the Lord- Commune with God often and experience the joy that comes with that communion.
Commit- Don’t be double minded or wishy washy . Non committed people don’t get very far at anything in life or with God
So do these things and He will give you the desires of your heart. He will bring it to pass.
TAKEAWAYS: 6 Keys to Ensure Prosperity and Wealth
Diligence- Careful and persistent effort- consistent hard work- The key to all the other keys below is to be diligent in doing them
Seek God in Everything- Always seek to please God and delight in His ways. Seeking His guidance and will in your life allows Him to guide you and bless you.
Seek Righteousness- Always seek to live an upright life and you’ll be blessed because of it.
Keep His Commandments (Walk in His Ways)- Know what God’s ways of doing things are, and when you live by those ways you’ll be greatly blessed.
Honor God With Your Wealth- Be a tither, and give offerings over and above the tithe. We are made in the image of God to be givers, and when we do it opens up windows for God to do huge things in our lives!
Have Faith and Trust in God- Giving every concern over to God is a hard thing to do, but when you do it allows Him to act on your behalf better than you could ever do for yourself. Trust that what His word says will come to pass when you do the right things.
The 6 Keys to Wealth and Prosperity
I’m sure there are plenty of other things you can do to ensure God’s blessings and prosperity upon your life. But I think these are 6 of the most important keys to godly prosperity and wealth, especially since you can find them repeatedly in scripture throughout both the New and Old Testaments.
Of course, these are spiritual laws that the more you follow them, the more you’ll find that you’re blessed in every area of your life, including monetary wealth.
God Can’t Do it Without You
The most important thing you have to understand is that
God can’t do it without you . His nature is to bless you when you’re doing the right things. When you’re not, His hands are tied and He can’t bless you like He wants to.
So remember to use these 6 keys if you want open up the windows of heaven and experience all the wealth and prosperity God promises we can have!

UPGRADE YOUR DREAMS

June 26, 2018 0
“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that…Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”Galatians 6:4-5 MSG
As we approach the half-way mark of 2018, I challenge you to check in with your dreams…
Are you where you hoped to be six months ago—back when you dreamed of all that was possible in the year ahead?
For those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere, summer is in full bloom, which seems to bring a fresh opportunity to cultivate a new harvest of possibilities.
What are you planting in your field of dreams?
This is the perfect time to take stock of the dream garden you’ve planted and notice whether it’s flourishing—or if it needs some tending to.
Are there signs of your dreams beginning to sprout, or have they been choked out by the weeds of distraction—smothered under daily obligations—overtaken by thorns of “busy-ness”?
Perhaps those dreams you planted at the start of the year are simply in need of some watering.
Be “alert to the condition of your lives.”
Hebrews 13:17
Ask God to show you where you’ve let your dreams “turn to seed” and how you can re-till the soil of your success.
Or ask Him to help you increase your capacity to dream bigger—to give you a larger field to cultivate as Jabez did:
“O, if only You would bring good to me and give me more land!”
1 Chronicles 4:10 NLV
Where is your faith holding you back?
How would you dream differently if you fully understood the nature of the Dream Giver?
How would you change what you asked for “if you knew the generosity of God” (John 4:10 MSG)?
“God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or dream.”
Ephesians 3:20
Whatever dreams you feel have withered on the vine, it’s not because they’re too big or out of reach for you!
If you put your trust in God, He’ll put His desires in your heart—so whatever your heart desires you can trust God to fulfill. (See Psalm 37:4.)
Ask God to plant a bigger dream in your heart.
Today I want to encourage you to dream again—to believe again.
What once stirred your heart that you have silenced? What have you put on hold?
Whatever you’re currently thinking about doing is probably too small—so as you read this, I challenge you to dream bigger!
God will never tell you to do something you don’t have the potential to do.
For the next 30 days, lay aside just 15 minutes a day to tend to the terrain of your dreams.
Write down your dream for the following seven areas in a notebook—it will be your “Dream Book.”
If you clarify and write down your dreams, God will bring the resources.
By the end of this year, six months from today, write about how you would like the following seven areas to look:
What is your dream for your…
1) Marriage — or your significant relationship in your life? If you’re still looking for that special relationship, write down in detail what you dream of that person being like.
2) Children — or the special young people in your life? Who do you dream of them becoming? And with that in mind, how do you dream of them progressing in the next six months?
3) Health — whether you dream of overcoming a health challenge, or improving your fitness. Write down your dream for how you want to feel six months from now, as well as how you want to look.
4) Legacy — or the lives you want to impact? Whose lives will you have positively influenced six months from now and in what ways?
5) Inheritance — or the material things you plan to bequeath to the people and causes you care about? Begin to dream now about the philanthropic or charitable impact you hope to make.
6) Education — or level of learning. How many books are you reading in a week or in a month? How many are loaded on your phone or device? Are you being strategic with the time and tools at your disposal?
7) Calling — or career? How will you have advanced by the end of this year? If you study your industry for just 30 minutes a day, you will become the go-to expert in your field!
Invest 15 minutes each day writing about your dreams, dreaming about your dreams, and strategizing about your dreams—and then by faith put energy into making those dreams a reality.
Dreamers are world changers and history makers.
It is people with dreams who change the trajectory of humanity.

“Since prayer is at the bottom of all this, what I want mostly is for men to pray—not shaking angry fists at enemies, but raising holy hands to God.”1 Timothy 2:8 MSG
It’s no secret that the key to success in the Kingdom is prayer. As Paul told Timothy, “prayer is at the bottom of all of this” (1 Tim. 2:8 MSG).
Through prayer, God enables you to experience heaven’s glory and transformative power right where you are—wherever, whenever, and for whatever you need.
If there was one simple thing you could do in any moment to change any situation, wouldn’t you do it?
You have been given an open line of communication to the Creator Himself; not only the Divine Change Maker, but the Grand Game Changer!
Through prayer, you are empowered by the Holy Spirit to:
1. Communicate directly with God;
2. Ascertain His will;
3. Fulfill His purpose and mandate;
4. Prevail against the enemy;
5. Manifest His gifts;
6. Walk in His grace;
7. Promote His Kingdom.
The Apostle Paul, who understood the power of prayer and its importance to every area of our lives, told us to saturate our days with prayer.
“Pray all the time…This is the way God wants you to live.”1 Thessalonians 5:17 MSG
In principle, we should pray for anything and everything—at any moment, in any mood, or to express any need. Sadly, for many, however, prayer remains a confusing mystery.
We need to be taught how to pray at all times, how to walk in the spirit in every circumstance, and how to practically live in the Kingdom every day of our lives.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.”Philippians 4:6 NLT
This is why I’ve been teaching these principles and strategies for over thirty years—and developed eight powerful course intensives delivered over one immersive week during Kingdom School of Ministry.
Instead of retreating in fear, you have been given authority to charge ahead in faith, storm the gates of hell, and plunder the kingdom of darkness, while establishing the Kingdom of God in territories previously occupied by the enemy.
“[Until] the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”Revelation 11:15
As you learn the art of prayer and spiritual warfare, you are able to build power hedges, prayer shields, and barriers around your life, marriage, family, and everything that needs to be protected from the destructive forces of the enemy.
As a believer, you are God’s representative and have the entire heavenly host to support you! You are a co-heir with Christ and are positioned with Him “far above all principalities and powers.”
Don’t neglect exercising your authority as a believer when you see a hurting world in need of God’s grace.
Scripture uses two Greek words to describe the power God gives believers engaged in spiritual warfare:
  • Exousia: The power to act; authority
  • Dunamis: Miraculous power, might, and strength
Jesus made a bold statement when He said, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19 ESV).
In other words, whatever you legislate on earth is legislated in heaven and whatever you annul on earth is annulled in heaven. Simply put, whatever you say “yes” or “no” to is established in the earthly realm.
God has given you His power and His weaponry to exercise authority over the enemy.
You have been instructed to “put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11-18 ESV).
Why? Because you and I—as the Church—are God’s primary tool in countering the forces of darkness.
“Through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 3:10 ESV
How? Through prayer!
Prayer is the weapon we use in spiritual battle, but unanswered questions keep many believers from wielding this tool effectively.
This is why I am passionate about training and developing you as a prayer warrior. This is why I have written dozens of books on the topic, and created an in depth course on ‘Prayer and Spiritual Warfare’ along with seven other courses to empower you to maximize your Kingdom potential.
You must be diligent to study and put into practice what you learn from the Word of God.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed.”
Timothy 2:15 KJV
So where do you go when you have questions? Yes, Kingdom School of Ministry…but even here, we always find what we need by looking to the Bible.
Here are some commonly asked questions you will find answered in the Word:
Who should pray?
“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV).
Why should we pray?
“Because your adversary the devil…walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8 KJV).
Where should we pray?
“When you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you” (Matthew 6:5-6 ESV).
When should we pray?
“Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV).
How should we pray?
“When you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him” (Matthew 6:7-8).
“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them” (Mark 11:25).
For what should we pray?
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God” (James 1:5).
“The prayer of faith will save the sick man and the Lord will raise him up” (James 5:14–15).
“That you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding” (Colossians 1:9).
“That your love may abound more and more” (Philippians 1:9–10).
“Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:38).

At the bottom of it all is prayer. All of our answers are found in prayer. Our strength is found in prayer, our hope, our peace, our healing, our wisdom, and most importantly, our fellowship with God.
It is said that anything we do consistently for 30 days becomes a habit, for 60 days becomes a discipline, and for 90 days becomes a lifestyle. Apply the strategy of “praying early” to your daily life and watch the supernatural hand of God work in powerful ways!
Stop to thank God now, in this moment, that everything you need is but a prayer away.

He wakes Me up morning by morning. He wakes up My ear to listen as a follower. The Lord God has opened My ear, and I obeyed Him. I did not turn back.Isaiah 50:4-5 NLV
